A person who obstructs or damages a road, waterway, bridge, or other means of general communication, or who uses other similar means to endanger the safety of public traffic shall be sentenced to imprisonment for not more than five years, short-term imprisonment, or a fine of not more than fifteen thousand dollars. |

A person who flees after the motor vehicle he drives has caused an accident resulting in injury of another, shall be sentenced to imprisonment for not less than six months but not more than five years; a person who flees after the motor vehicle he drives has caused an accident resulting in death or aggravated injury of another, shall be sentenced to imprisonment for more than one year but less than seven years. If a person commits the offenses specified in the preceding paragraph, and if the driver is not at fault for causing a death or injury in a traffic accident, the punishment may be reduced or remitted.
